The goal of Culture Collision is to bring respective audiences together to learn about the upcoming events of the New Orleans non-profit art community. Network with over 60 performing and visual arts organizations who will be selling subscriptions, memberships and merchandise. There will be cash bars and food available throughout the new US Freedom Pavilion. Four organizations will be presenting pop-up performances during Culture Collision. There will also be a free photo booth and a raffle!

Monday, September 8, 2014: NOLALIT


The Creativity Collective launches Nolalit, a book club that reads riveting works about New Orleans in September, 2014.


Nolalit will vote on books and read independently, meeting the second Monday of the month at historic landmark, The Columns Hotel (3811 St Charles Ave, New Orleans, LA 70115). Adults and mature teens are invited to attend with $1 per meeting. Food and drinks are available during Column’s happy hour in the Victoria Lounge 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

Nolalit is an opportunity to embrace local literature in a social setting. The group will celebrate completing a book with an optional field trip, signing or author-speaker. This is a great introduction to the rich culture of New Orleans for new residents and anyone who wants to share their passion for reading about New Orleans with others.

Nolalit will kick-off its first meeting September 8, 2014 and continue every month at 6:00 p.m.  Come laugh, be inspired and participate in thought-provoking conversation. OUR CAUSE

The purpose of this fundraiser is to promote The Creativity Collective and raise funds for Covenant House which serves at-risk and homeless teens and young adults. Their 24/7 crisis center provides food, shelter and medical care. They also provide long term transitional housing, educational services, pre-job and on-the-job training, life skills and GED assistance. Covenant House works to reduce human trafficking and prostitution and provides counseling and emotional support for young adults in transition. Last year, 668 youth received assistance from Covenant House.
